185 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of posts decentralised in respect of previous decentralisation in whole or part of his Department or any agency under the aegis of his Department; the percentage of staff who were transferred on promotion; the percentage of staff who transferred at their current grade; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Foreign Affairs established a passport sub-office in Cork city in 1987. Two of the original three posts were filled from within the Department. The third officer came from another Department. Filling the three posts did not necessitate any officer being promoted.
