240 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if Coillte Teoranta ever burned felled trees or products; if so, the quantities involved; the locations at which this has taken place in the past ten years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21819/04]
View answerCoillte Teoranta was established as a private company under the Forestry Act, 1988. This is a forest management issue and, as such, is a matter for the company in the first instance. However, I understand that it is not the practice of Coillte to burn felled trees. If the Deputy wishes to contact the company with further details of the matter at issue, it will be happy to assist.
