150 Mr. Connaughton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if her attention has been drawn to the pioneering work done in brain surgery in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin and that, due to insufficient resources in the neurology department at same, patients needing special brain surgery are on a long waiting list; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Services at Beaumont Hospital are provided under an arrangement with the Eastern Regional Health Authority and my Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to examine the matter and to reply to the Deputy directly.
