291 Mr. Healy asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children when she intends to approve the proposal by the South Eastern Health Board to open a 20 bed general practitioners assessment unit to be located in the main building at Our Lady’s Hospital, Cashel; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The provision of health services in Cashel is the responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board in the first instance. Officials of my Department have had discussions with the board with regard to the issue raised by the Deputy. Further consideration will be given to the matter in the context of the Estimates process for 2005.
