425 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the action taken by her Department in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny relating to the poor state of health of the animals on their farm and the difficulties they have experienced in this regard over a seven-year period; if a cross-agency approach will be adopted in regard to this problem and immediate action instigated on foot of all the reports which are now available; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Concerns were expressed by a small number of farmers regarding animal production on individual farms in County Kilkenny. In accordance with an established protocol, investigations involving a number of relevant agencies are under way. Representatives of the agencies concerned have met and will meet again to review the results of the investigative work under way.
