332 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the amount of funding to date that has been allocated to the safe home programme; if his Department intends to expand this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27075/04]
View answerThe safe home programme is core funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs, through the DÍON fund, and the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. My Department has funded the safe home programme for various information projects since 2001 amounting to €56,245 to date. Among the projects funded were the setting up of a website, www.safehomeireland.ie; the production and distribution of a monthly newsletter to applicants to the safe home programme. The funding was provided in response to applications from the safe home programme to the Department and any applications to date have received favourable response.
