68 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of students from other EU countries engaged in full-time third level study in the State; the number of students from non-EU countries engaged in full-time third level study in the State; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The total number of full time students in third level institutions which are aided by my Department for the 2002-03 academic year, the latest year for which complete statistics are currently available, was 129,283. Of this figure there were 3,829 from other EU member states, including the ten new states, and 4,179 students from outside the EU.
