172 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24 is being asked to wait over a year from now for an appointment in the eye and ear hospital; the reason for the delay and the steps being taken to improve this situation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Responsibility for the provision of health services for persons residing in counties Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
