I am informed by the Office of Public Works that the new Garda station in Abbeyfeale will be completed next month. I understand that the cost of the station will be of the order of €1.2 million. I am also advised by the Garda authorities that the necessary internal communications infrastructure to cater for the PULSE system has been provided as part of the build. A decision to extend on-line access of PULSE to the station will be taken in the context of the Garda information and communications technology strategy currently under preparation in the Garda Síochána.
