533 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the amount made available to each local authority in 2001, 2002 and 2003 regarding the disabled persons grant; the amount expended by each of the respective local authorities in the respective years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A separate allocation is not given to local authorities by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government for the payment of disabled persons grants. A combined allocation was made to local authorities annually, up to and including 2002, in respect of house purchase and improvement loans and disabled persons and essential repairs grants. An annual combined allocation has been made since 2003 in respect of disabled persons and essential repairs grants. The combined allocations to local authorities between 2001 and 2003 are set out in the following table:
