183 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will take steps to finalise an application for naturalisation by a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [34011/04]
View answerI considered the application for naturalisation of the person referred to by the Deputy in July 2004 and I decided at that time that I would defer making a final decision on the case until July 2005. As the Deputy is aware, the individual concerned was notified of my position and the reasons for it. Notwithstanding the development outlined by the Deputy in his question, I intend to wait until July 2005 to make a final decision on the matter. My officials will be in touch with the person concerned in advance of submitting the file to me for a final decision.
