At the request of HSE Management, the HSE Internal Audit Unit conducted an Audit into the procurement process and procedures in relation to the PPARS project in January this year, and its report was completed and presented to HSE Management and Audit Committee in April. The report was critical of the procurement process in respect of the recruitment of the companies to provide technical contractors. The recommendations of the Internal Audit Unit have been accepted and are being implemented.

I understand from the HSE that it was informed that there is no general statutory requirement on the Company in question to produce or file financial statements in the jurisdiction in question, nor is the register of directors and members required to be made public. I further understand that the Revenue Commissioners are investigating taxation aspects in respect of payments to this company.
