View answerThe Work Permit section of my Department took a decision to refuse this application on the basis that it is not for a highly paid or highly skilled job. Since the accession of the 10 new member states employers should look to the wider EU in the first instance to source labour needs that are not highly skilled or highly paid. The Work Permit Section is in a position to consider issuing a work permit in respect of this individual under the new Spousal Work Permit Scheme. An official from the work permit section has written to the employer seeking additional information for the application to be processed.
