93 Dr. Twomey asked the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when he will appoint a new chief executive to the Health and Safety Authority; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [37948/06]
View answerThe appointment of a Chief Executive of the Health and Safety Authority is in the first instance a matter for the Board of the Authority in accordance with the provisions of Section 39 and Schedule 6 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. The appointment is subject to the consent of the Minister. I am informed that the board is putting in place arrangements and procedures to recruit and appoint a new Chief Executive.
