195 Mr. McGuinness asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the status of an application to remain in the State by a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; the timeframe for a decision in their case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39342/06]

The person in question made an application for family reunification under Section 18 of the Refugee Act 1996 on behalf of his wife in February 2006. I expect that a decision will be reached in this matter in the early part of 2007.
