As the Deputy will be aware the Department published, in January this year, an Area Development Plan in draft format which sets out the educational infrastructural requirements of the North Dublin, East Meath and South Louth area into the future. In this draft Plan, which is available on the Department's website, www.education.ie, the Department has set out its recommendations for the North Dublin area.
The Commission on School Accommodation has concluded its public consultation process on the draft document and are finalising the report for publication. This report will form a framework against which capital investment for the area will be made for the foreseeable future.

Question:410 Deputy Damien English asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress on the provision of the necessary additional accommodation capacity for students at a school (details supplied) in County Meath; when her Department expects to begin construction of proposed works; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerIt is the Department's intention to construct a new post-primary school to cater for the long term needs of the area served by the school to which the Deputy refers. The acquisition of a site for this purpose is being actively pursued.
