564 Deputy Martin Ferris asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food his view on whether the use of short rotation coppice willow would be a suitable material to be added to poultry litter in order to facilitate its use in anaerobic digestion. [39255/08]
View answerShort rotation coppice (SRC) willow is currently produced for use as a combustible fuel. I understand that some studies have been carried out on the possible use of SRC willow in anaerobic digestion plants, but it is generally not considered a suitable feedstock for this process.
