311 Deputy Joanna Tuffy asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the amount of money allocated for home insulation grants and the greener home schemes in the years 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 in tabular form; the amount allocated in grants under each heading; the number of applicants who applied for and availed of these grants in each year; the amount of funding remaining unused in each of the years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The following table sets out the relevant figures for the Greener Homes Scheme (GHS) from its inception in 2006 to the present date, and also sets out the figures for the Home Energy Savings Scheme (HESS) for 2008 and 2009. The 2008 figures for HESS are for the pilot ‘Insulation Scheme', which was used to test principles and processes required to deliver the full-scale HESS programme.
