296 Deputy George Lee asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs if her attention has been drawn to the fact that an application for jobseeker’s allowance in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin is pending since they supplied further documentation on 9 September 2009; the reason for the delay; when the application will be processed; if her further attention has been drawn to the fact that they wish to be eligible to apply for a vocational training opportunity scheme and the back to education allowance but are ineligible until her Department processes their application due to the fact that they are ineligible to apply while they are in receipt of a community welfare payment that they are receiving until their jobseeker’s application is processed; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
