Questions (129)

Joan Collins

Question:

129 Deputy Joan Collins asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that he stated on 23 June 2011 that two radiographers would be appointed later in 2011 to allow for the resumption of the mammography service at Sligo General Hospital, County Sligo; if his further attention has been drawn to the fact that the Health Service Executive, due to the current financial position, has had to put in place a recruitment pause and as a result these and other positions are currently on hold; if he will provide the necessary funding to the HSE to allow for the recruitment of the radiographers; the date on which the follow-up mammography service will resume in this hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question relates to service delivery matters and accordingly I have asked the HSE to respond directly to her.
