162 Deputy Patrick O’Donovan asked the Minister for Health further to Parliamentary Question No. 501 of 18 October 2011, if he will provide a breakdown of the size of the populations served by each one of the regions mentioned. [32605/11]
View answerThe breakdown of population across the four HSE regions is shown in the following table. This is based on the latest official figures available, the 2006 Census. The figures for the 2011 Census have not yet been finalised by the Central Statistics Office. However, the preliminary CSO Census 2011 figures indicate that the total population has increased from 4,239,848 in 2006 to 4,581,269 in April 2011; an increase of 341,421 or 8.1%.
