View answerThe total number of valid Irish passports in circulation in Ireland and around the world is approximately 4.5m. Of this figure it is estimated that approximately 3.85m are held in Ireland, including Northern Ireland; 380,000 are held by Irish citizens resident in Great Britain; and 270,000 held by Irish citizens resident in other countries around the world.
