View answerThe Water Services Investment Programme 2010-2012 a copy of which is available in the Oireachtas Library, provides for the development of a comprehensive range of new water services infrastructure in County Cork. The Programme includes contracts under construction and to commence to the value of some €230 million in the county during the period of the Programme. The Clonakilty Sewerage Scheme (Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade) Contract is included in the Programme as a contract to start during the life of the Programme. The proposed works include the upgrading of the wastewater treatment plant and a pumping station at Long Quay. Cork County Council has informed my Department that it has recently sought tenders for the contract.
