532 Deputy Paschal Donohoe asked the Minister for Social Protection the position regarding a carer’s allowance application in respect of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 11; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18096/12]
View answerThe person concerned was refused carer's allowance in respect of a second care recipient on the grounds that, based upon the medical evidence provided, the care recipient is not so disabled as to require full time care and attention as prescribed in regulations. She was notified accordingly and of her right of review/appeal within 21 days. Additional medical evidence was received and forwarded to the Medical Assessor for consideration. This information has not altered his opinion and as a result the decision will remain unchanged. She will be notified directly of the outcome of the review in due course.
