778 Deputy Finian McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government in view of a recent communication from the EU DG Competition in relation to rural development funding from LEADER projects in excess of €200,000, if he will confirm if the notification process is proceeding (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm that the notification process to obtain the necessary state aid clearance to provide grant aid in excess of €200,000 under the Basic Services and Village Renewal measures of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 is underway and is at an advanced stage. A final response is expected from DG Competition in the coming weeks.
