32. Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if following the publication of the wording for the Children’s Referendum, she will ensure that commitments made in relation to increasing the number of social workers will be met by the end of 2012; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The recruitment of additional social workers was included in the Ryan report implementation plan. The commitments made to recruit an additional 260 social workers on foot of the Ryan report have now been met.
