524. Deputy Martin Ferris asked the Minister for Agriculture; Food and the Marine when area aid will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry. [43284/12]

An application under the Single Payment Scheme/Disadvantaged Areas Scheme was received from the person named on the 17 April 2012.

In order to comply with EU requirements, the application concerned was one of a number which was selected for inspection. As a result, it was not possible to include this case with the initial tranche of DAS payments on 26 September.

This inspection and related processes have now been completed. Accordingly, the application is being progressed with a view to payment under DAS as soon as possible. Payments under SPS are scheduled to commence in mid-October.
