229. Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Education and Skills the reason a person (details supplied) is not entitled to an additional €20 VTOS payment. [44355/12]

Minister of State at the Department of Education and Skills

Learners enrolled in courses provided under the Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS) who have been in receipt of an eligible Department of Social Protection payment for more than 312 days directly before the VTOS course commencement date qualify for an additional payment of €20 per week. I understand that the person referred to by the Deputy does not satisfy this requirement and therefore is not eligible for this payment.
