The report of the National Substance Misuse Strategy Steering Group in relation to alcohol was launched in February last and it is continuing to encourage public debate. My Department is developing proposals on the basis of the recommendations of the Steering Group including those on advertising referred to by the Deputy. These were considered by the Cabinet Committee on Social Policy and are due to be submitted to Government for consideration and approval.
