253. Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Education and Skills in view of the abandonment of a project (details supplied) in County Kilkenny by a builder if he will immediately organise for the recommencement of the project under a direct labour and materials contract. [46224/12]
View answerThe extant contract for the school building project to which the Deputy refers, is between the school authorities and the contractor in question. Following notification from the school that works did not proceed as expected on October 8th, Department officials met with the school authorities and their Design Team to consider the next steps. My officials are liaising with the school authorities and are monitoring progress on this project.
