I understand the Deputy has clarified that her question is in relation to grades at Assistant Principal Officer level and above. The information requested in relation to promotions and temporary appointments is set out in the attached tabular statement. For each of the promotions listed, a business case was made to the Department of Public Expenditure & Reform and sanction was duly received. The only promotion during the period which is temporary in nature is the Education Attaché post which carries a maximum period of 4 years duration. In addition to these internal promotions there were 3 appointments made at my Department through the Top Level Appointments Committee (T.L.A.C.). One at Secretary General, one at Assistant Secretary General and one at Chief Inspector level.
