499. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Social Protection the position regarding entitlement to jobseeker's allowance in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [47568/12]

The person concerned was disallowed jobseeker’s allowance as her means were deemed to be in excess of the statutory limit based on spousal earnings. The person concerned can appeal the decision of the deciding officer to the social welfare appeal’s office.
