Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the reason for the delay in processing an application submitted to the Garda Central Vetting Unit in July 2012 in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities that a vetting application on behalf of the person concerned was received by the Garda Central Vetting Unit. The application was processed and returned to the registered organisation involved on 2 November 2012.
