View answerThe general moratorium on recruitment to the public service continues to apply to the Garda Síochána. The question of when recruitment to the Garda Síochána should resume will be kept under continuing review in the context of the availability of resources, as will the related issue of the continued viability of the existing Garda recruitment panel, which is now approximately four years old.
