Monies received by BIM that are intended for specific sectors of the Irish seafood industry are paid out by that body as grants. The Aquaculture Initiative was incorporated in 1998 as a European Economic Interest Group supported by the Special Programme for Peace and Reconciliation and dedicated to provision of support services to the aquaculture industry.
