Deputy Andrew Doyle asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the review procedure that he intends to take with the Department for Agriculture, Marine and Food to ensure that the dog welfare standards being developed in the Animal Health and Welfare Bill will apply to dog pounds, rescues and dog transportation operators. The application of all aspects of the Animal Health and Welfare Bill 2012, including those relating to dogs, are a matter for my colleague, the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine.  My Department is responsible for matters relating to control of dogs.
