647. Deputy Ann Phelan asked the Minister for Health if he will provide details of all of the voluntary organisations here in receipt of grants under Section 39 of the Health Act; if he will indicate the hierarchy of such organisations and the amount the chief executive officers or equivalent are receiving in salaries per annum; if he intends to question these salary levels in the public interest; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have referred this matter to the Health Service Executive for direct reply. Organisations may receive grants from the HSE under Section 39 of the Health Act 2004 to provide a service similar or ancillary to a service that the HSE may provide. Staff in such independent organisations are not public servants and are not specifically subject to the pay scales approved for public servants.
