Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl asked the Minister for Health if he will ask the Health Service Executive to intervene urgently in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; if he will ensure that the person is transferred to the hospital most suited to meeting their health and psychological needs; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Decisions to transfer patients are made by treating clinicians if it is determined that the patient’s condition warrants a transfer to another hospital. As this is a service matter the question has been referred to the HSE for direct reply to the Deputy.
