Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Social Protection the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8, who is awaiting a decision on their jobseeker's appeal, has been informed that they have to leave their college course or the community welfare officer will discontinue to pay them. Under Social Welfare legislation any person who is a full-time student does not qualify for supplementary welfare allowance. As the person concerned has now ceased full-time education, his supplementary welfare allowance application has been approved and payments have issued to him.
