290. Deputy Jim Daly asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform if a final decision has been reached in relation to establishing a compensation fund for uninsured businesses affected by the County Cork flooding in June 2012; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [56953/12]
View answerAs the Deputy will be aware from the reply given to him by my colleague, the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government on this matter on 11 December (question no. 292), the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government briefed the Government on matters relating to the Cork flooding of 29 June 2012 and it was decided that the relevant ministers would agree with the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform on a possible approach that would address the matter of compensation for uninsured businesses arising from that flooding. The matters are under consideration by the relevant Government Departments at present.
