483. Deputy Charlie McConalogue asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the plans he is putting in place to improve border policing in County Donegal especially in view of a robbery of a post office in the South Inishowen area in the past two weeks. [56666/12]
View answerI am advised that Garda management closely monitors the allocation of all resources in the context of crime trends, policing needs and other operational strategies in place on a District, Divisional and Regional level, to ensure optimum use is made of Garda resources, and the best possible Garda service is provided to the public. With regard to the specific incident referred to by the Deputy, I have requested a report from the Garda authorities in relation to the matter. I will contact the Deputy again when the report is to hand.
