678. Deputy Regina Doherty asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if she will consider the mandatory inclusion of defibrillator equipment in all secondary schools and sports club facilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [56409/12]

Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport

The installation of equipment in sports clubs is a matter for those clubs. Such equipment has however been funded under the Sports Capital Programme. The installation of equipment in secondary schools is a matter for my colleague the Minister for Education and Skills.
