Deputy Jonathan O'Brien asked the Minister for Education and Skills if he will provide, in tabular form, the number of students on a county basis who are awaiting to have their original grant applications reassessed or a decision made on their appeal by Student Universal Support Ireland. The following table provides a breakdown of appeals submitted to Student Universal Support Ireland. The data provided is at a point in time on the 14th January, 2013 and has been provided to my Department by SUSI. SUSI has confirmed that some 597 students are currently awaiting re-assessment of their applications.
