640. Deputy Dominic Hannigan asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government his plans regarding a grant to help homeowners pay for pyrite testing their homes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [58189/12]
View answerThe Government recently approved the setting up of a Resolution Board to oversee the implementation of a remediation scheme for dwellings affected by pyrite. It also approved the imposition of levies on the quarrying and insurance sectors to fund such a remediation scheme. Work is underway on the scope and detail of the remediation scheme and the cost of testing will be dealt with in that context.
