523. Deputy Michael Moynihan asked the Minister for Justice and Equality when a decision will be made in relation to an application for a visa in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3015/13]
View answerThe Visa application referred to by the Deputy was lodged at our Embassy in Singapore on 15 January 2013 and has been forwarded to the Visa Office of the Irish Naturalisation & Immigration Service (INIS) in Dublin to be processed. I understand that the necessary supporting documentation is in transit to that Office and, when it is received, a decision on the application can be expected within 10-15 working days.
Queries in relation to general immigration matters may be made directly to INIS by e-mail using the Oireachtas Mail facility which has been specifically established for this purpose. This service enables up to date information on such cases to be obtained without the need to seek information by way of the Parliamentary Questions process. The Deputy may consider using the e-mail service except in cases where the response from INIS is, in the Deputy's view, inadequate or too long awaited.
