Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Health if the designated officer conveyed the recommendation to the National Director of Integrated Care and the Chief Executive of the Health Service Executive in relation to the report on the future of Abbeyleix District Hospital, St. Brigid's Hospital Shaen, Portlaoise; the position in relation to the future of these hospitals; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of Health

The Department has received recommendations from the Health Service Executive in relation to both facilities. The matter is now being considered by officials within the Department and a submission will be prepared for the Minister shortly.
