Deputy Joanna Tuffy asked the Minister for Education and Skills if the redundancy replacement scheme through FÁS will be available this year to apprentices based in the Dublin area who require to work outstanding hours to complete their apprenticeships; and if he will make a statement on the matter. This is a day to day operational matter for FAS. I understand that FÁS is currently reviewing the guidelines and criteria for the introduction of a Redundant Apprentice Placement Scheme for 2013. FAS expect to be in a position to commence the 2013 scheme in February.
