754. Deputy Kevin Humphreys asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will intervene to satisfactorily resolve the situation in respect of a person (details supplied); the reason Irish Rail is fining persons who use the Leap Card for not having a valid fare on the Dart when the station they are meant to tag on at does not have an operational tag-on system nor a member of staff present to assist; the efforts being made to resolve this issue; the reason Irish Rail are declining to engage with customers on the facts of an appeal; if this is now the policy of a company that has recently required a public bailout; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
