Deputy Peter Mathews asked the Minister for Education and Skills the numbers of persons broken down by institution and year, in the years 2009 to 2012 who have left employment from the library services of each of the universities; their grades and the numbers of persons so replaced and their grades; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerUniversities are autonomous statutory bodies and my Department has no function in their operational management, including matters relating to the recruitment of college staff. The data requested by the deputy is therefore not available in my Department or the Higher Education Authority. I have however asked the Higher Education Authority to request this data from the universities and it will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as it is available.
