388. Deputy Tom Fleming asked the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation the number of small firms in County Kerry that have applied for the micro finance scheme loan fund; and the number of those businesses that have been approved for funds to date. [5946/13]
View answerLoans of up to €25,000 are available to microenterprises with viable business plans and repayment capacity that have been refused access to credit from the banks. MFI is conscious of the need to promote the availability of its funds to small and medium sized enterprises and will be embarking on a media campaign to raise awareness of the Scheme across the country.
Quarterly progress reports for 2013 will be available on the MFI website www.microfinanceireland.ie.
